VMBC has a strong history of producing competitive rowers and coxes who arrived at the club with no prior experience. Whether you want to row recreationally or competitively, you can do this as a part of our novice squad.
Learn to Row
Every year Durham University Boat Club run a course using the rowing tank and the erg to teach you the basics of rowing. Once you have taken this course you will be able to start rowing on the water with VMBC.
Learn to Cox
We’re always keen to recruit new coxes, and Durham College Rowing’s learn to cox course offers the opportunity to start coxing with no prior experience.
