Seniors
Our senior squad currently has over 25 members, made up of a mixture of both former school rowers/coxes and a group of former novices who learnt to row at VMBC.
Being part of VMBC’s senior squad offers the opportunity to row competitively or recreationally, depending on how much time you want to commit to the sport. The huge advantage of college rowing is the flexibility it offers to balance academic, social, sporting or work commitments alongside rowing, whilst also being competitive.

Women’s Squad
Our women’s squad has been growing from strength to strength after a dip following covid/the fire. We are now consistently placing in the top third of college crews, and with a great intake of freshers this year our momentum is only increasing! I’m looking forward to leading a great year of rowing as women’s captain.

Men’s Squad
After lots of our men’s squad graduated in 2023 my goal is to get a group of men to races, create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone and thus allow everyone to get out of rowing what they want. I’m also acutely aware of the need for male sports groups to champion issues that affect men only, so far this year we grew / wore moustaches for Movember generating awareness for men’s mental and physical health, and raising nearly £500 along the way.
