On Saturday 17th February the senior men took on the Tyne.
Once again, the men had a great race, and despite challenging river conditions stopping water training, their hard work on the erg and in the tank paid off. The crew were rewarded with a very respectable finish position of 3rd place in their band.
This was a momentous occasion for the squad because it was Mitul and Ben’s first senior race, Henry’s first race post presidential hiatus, and Stella’s first race with men’s squad. Thank you very much to our nov captain Anya for all the hard work she’s put into getting 3 senior men from this year’s novices!
Finally, thank you to St. Aidan’s College Boat Club for a fabulous battle paddle in the last 2km of the race. The men are now in a fantastic position to build on VMBC’s legacy at HORR.
